How Important are Mock Ups?

Edward Symmons Option 2

Edward Symmons

How important are mock ups for our clients?  They are time consuming and with the increasing popularity of the PDF format are becoming rare, depending on the client, they are however an indispensable format to showcase a design.  In some circumstances it is necessary to give a client a tangible product which engages them, allowing them to see the physical dimensions of a piece or how a blind emboss works.  Paper technology is a dying art, it should be embraced by designers and they should be education in what is achievable using paper.
